ANNOUNCEMENT: Physical Clinic Location Closing

Dear patients, friends, and community,

This is a difficult message to write, but one I share with honesty and hope. As of July 31st, 2025, our physical clinic location will be closing and we will transition fully to telehealth services only.

When I opened this practice, my heart was fully invested in serving you with compassionate, integrative, and personalized care. I contracted with insurance companies in good faith, believing this would make care more accessible—allowing you to use the benefits you’ve already paid for. Unfortunately, the reality has been quite different.

Many insurance companies have chosen to reimburse me at significantly lower rates than originally anticipated, sometimes paying just a fraction of the standard physician rate. Despite ongoing efforts to fight this, I have come to the hard truth: the insurance system is designed to benefit itself. It controls how I practice, what I’m allowed to offer, and when (or if) I get paid at all.

To be fully transparent, my current reimbursement structure barely covers basic clinic overhead—rent, utilities, and staff—let alone provide any income to support myself or reinvest in growing the practice. And as we enter July, several companies still haven’t paid me for patient visits dating back to January and February.

In light of this, I must pivot. But I am not giving up. I am simply choosing a new path—one that allows me to continue doing the work I love, in a way that honors my integrity, training, and the kind of care you deserve.

What to Expect in the Transition:

Week of June 23–26 will be the last week for accepting new patient visits.

These new patients will be seen with the understanding that their follow-up visit must be completed by July 31st.

If you are waiting on lab results or a follow-up, we will continue scheduling those into July.

If you’ve seen us before and would like one final in-person follow-up, we encourage you to schedule now. All in-person care will end by July 31st.

What’s Next: Telehealth Services

As stated before will transition to telehealth-only care for most of the services that we already do now such as:

Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)

General health and wellness optimization

Select functional/integrative services

Plus I should be able to customize and add even more services! These services will be self-pay only. We will no longer accept insurance after we transition, but can provide you with documentation (a superbill) you can submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

The exact timing for beginning the telehealth services is not definite - believe it or not - the insurance companies get to dictate how soon after I cancel their contract that I can move into a new path; this is how much they control the system. Plus I will be taking some personal time to manage personal/family circumstances, so there will be a delay.

I anticipate I will be able to give a solid update in late summer or early fall. I will keep you updated on this transition.

This was not the path I originally imagined—but I’m confident it’s the right one moving forward. This transition allows me to continue offering real care, with real results, free from the red tape and restrictions of insurance-based medicine.

Thank you for walking this road with me. Your trust, your stories, your healing journeys—I carry them all with deep gratitude. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or to schedule a visit before July 31st. More information will come as to where records will be housed, how you can access them, etc. Please check your hormones and thyroid medication, if you have less than 6 months of refills please let us know so that we can refill those for you. If it is a primary care medication (high blood pressures, statin, etc.) we ask that you continue to get your refills through your primary care provider.

With a full heart,

Miriam
